Refund Policy

Last updated: [EFFECTIVE DATE]

1. Nature of the Service

Lucent Pro is a digital SaaS subscription delivering instant access to premium web-based data tools. Because access to the Service begins immediately upon payment, specific provisions apply regarding your right to cancel, as described below.

2. Waiver of the 14-Day Cooling-Off Period

Under the UK Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 and the EU Consumer Rights Directive, consumers ordinarily have a 14-day right to cancel a digital service contract. However, this right does not apply where:

  • The consumer has given express consent for the service to begin immediately, and
  • The consumer has acknowledged that this means they lose their right to cancel under the 14-day cooling-off period.

At the point of checkout, you are required to explicitly confirm both of the above conditions before your subscription is activated. By completing your purchase, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these terms.

All subscription payments are final once access to Lucent Pro has been granted. No refunds will be issued after the checkout waiver has been confirmed.

3. Free Trial

Where a free trial is offered, no payment is taken during the trial period. You may cancel at any time before the trial ends without charge. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, your subscription will automatically convert to a paid plan and the waiver terms in Section 2 will apply from that point.

4. Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time via your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. You will retain full Pro access until that date and will not be charged again. Cancellation is not the same as a refund — no refund will be issued for the remaining days of a paid billing period.

5. Billing and Payment Processing

All payments are processed by Paddle, our Merchant of Record. Paddle appears as the merchant on your bank statement and is responsible for issuing tax-compliant invoices. For billing disputes or payment queries, you may also contact Paddle directly via their buyer support at paddle.com/help/buyers.

6. Statutory Rights Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015

Nothing in this Refund Policy affects your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. If the Service is not performed with reasonable care and skill, is not as described, or is otherwise in breach of the implied terms of the Act, you may be entitled to a remedy regardless of the checkout waiver. In such cases, the appropriate remedy may be a repeat performance of the service or, where that is not possible, a price reduction or refund. These statutory rights cannot be waived or excluded by contract.

7. Refund Timeframes

Where a refund is agreed — whether under your statutory rights or at our discretion — we will process it within 14 days of confirming your entitlement, using the same payment method used for the original transaction. Refunds are processed via Paddle and may take additional time to appear depending on your bank or card issuer.
